- Tap an empty square, then a color in the palette. You can also pick a color first, then tap every square where it goes.
- Each color must appear only once in every row, every column and every box. The squares given at the start do not move.
- Fill the whole grid: every complete row, column or box lights up in its color, and the finished grid gets a party with the gang.
tips and tricks
- Start with the color that is already placed the most: it has few spots left, often only one per box.
- Tap a placed color: every square of that color lights up, and the gaps in their rows and columns jump out.
- In pencil mode, note the two or three possible colors of a square; when a color is placed, its nearby notes clear by themselves.
- When two squares of a box can only take the same two colors, those colors are ruled out from the rest of the box.
- In the daily sudoku, save hints for the end: each hint costs stars, just like each mistake.

What is color sudoku?

Can I play if I am color blind?
Yes. Each color always carries the same symbol (heart, triangle, star, diamond, drop, square, hexagon, flower, ring), and the symbol alone is enough to play. The 123 button swaps the symbols for the digits 1 to 9. Mistakes are marked with a ring and hatching you can read without seeing red, and each pencil note keeps its own spot in the square.
Is it a good sudoku for kids?
Yes. The 4 by 4 grids (4 colors) and 6 by 6 grids (6 colors) are made for sudoku for kids: few squares, very different colors, and every square can be found just by looking. The 9 by 9 easy level then uses the same reasoning.
What is the daily sudoku?
Every day, everyone plays the same 9 by 9 medium grid, with a timer. Your first game counts toward the shared daily streak, and you can share your result (time, hints, clean boxes) without giving the grid away.
How are the grids made?
Each grid is drawn at random and then checked by a solver: it has a single solution, and it can be solved by logic, without guessing. The level depends on the techniques you need: singles for easy and medium, pairs and locked candidates for hard, X-wings and triples for expert.
